I am a licensed elementary school teacher with endorsements in Gifted education and in Teaching Students of Other Languages. I have over 17 years of classroom teaching and tutoring experience. My passion is gifted education and math. I love finding new ways to engage students and help them feel that anything is possible. I received my B.A. from U.C Berkeley, Jurist Doctorate from Hastings College of Law, and Masters Degree in Education at Pace University. In 2002 I was accepted to Teach for America and I have been teaching since. I have been a public school teacher for ten years with the New York City Department of Education and taught speech and debate classes for about ten years with thousands of NYC students. My debaters have gone on to win city, state and national champion titles. I currently serve as Professor at Baruch College in the Communications Studies Department. I teach Debate and Argumentation classes as well as Political Rhetoric.
I have been teaching for nearly 20 years, and focusing on forensic science classes and programs for kids since 2005. For the past five years, I have also been teaching a variety of online courses, including space science, climate change, writing, introduction to law, constitutional law, history, unsolved crimes, U.S. elections, U.S. government, and geography. I have a J.D. (Law) from the University of Michigan, as well as B.A. and M.A. degrees in history, and extensive graduate education in geography and forensic science.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. I also have a Master’s in Business Administration. For many years, I have been an active mentor in the education sector focused mainly on science and technology. I have taken part in Engineering Kids programs where I show the importance of learning engineering through fun experiments and activities. I have also taken part in different Lego League training sessions and competitions. Additionally, As a father of two, I enjoy teaching my kids about science and the world that surrounds us.
